This time of year always feels like winter is stretching out a little bit too long. I'm thankful for Valentine's Day and the lighthearted joy it brings right smack dab in the middle of the longest part of winter. Since we have a first grader at our house (who is all hearts and bows) this is her time to shine! We are all about the homemade Valentines and tiny notes passed around amongst friends. It's a naustalgic feeling sifting through those little rectangles bedazzled with ironic puns and sugary candy when they come home. I feel almost as excited as my daughter, as I felt so many decades ago. I don't know what we will do this year for her cards yet but it's time to start thinking about it I guess!
